Construction technology or contech has become a multibillion dollar industry – with global construction tech startups raising nearly $1.4B in 2020.

The term contech covers a wide range of technologies, which are at different levels of development. In general, contech is a term that was coined to describe the implementation of technology to innovate the way we plan, design, manufacture, build, and install built structures.  

Historically, contech has had much less attention than the more mainstream forms of proptech.
